Have you every watched your favorite rock band and wished you can play guitar like any of them? Of course you have! Most people dream of having the superhuman skill of making exhilarating music. However, this dream dies when tries playing the guitar for the first time. It sure is tedious work and it hurts the fingers, but it is all worth it in the end. Like most skills, learning to play guitar needs practice, patience, and perseverance.

First, get a GripMaster that has callus builder caps. This prepares your fingers for guitar-playing. Since guitar strings can hurt inexperienced fingers, it’s best if you could encourage the growth of fingertip calluses. By doing this, you’ll feel a little less pain when you try to learn the guitar.

Second, get a good acoustic guitar. These has a combination of nylon and metal strings, so it’s going to be a bit more gentle on your fingers as compared to steel guitars. Try finding one the has a thin fret bar or “neck,’ so that your fingers can press all the right chords.

Third, research online and learn about the frets and chords. Mastering them will enable you to understand songs and guide you when playing any of them. Once you’ve gone through all the basic chords, study the power chords. This will come in handy when you’ve passed the beginner’s stage of guitar-playing.

Fourth, go online and try to find guitar instructional material. There are many of these available online, but only a few of them gives clear instructions. Therefore, it is important that you find a website that offers clear instructions.

Fifth, review the instructions and tips you’ve gathered and practice. Ideally, you can download guitar chords of your favorite songs. Study this as well. While doing so, listen o a CD of the song you want to play, so that you can hear how the guitarist makes music. Listen closely to how the guitar is strummed. Also, try to choose a simple song to learn. Since you are a beginner, you can’t expect to immediately play the guitar like Jimi Hendrix.
Lastly, practice some more. Play the guitar everyday and learn new songs with different chords as you get better. This way, you’ll be able to master the art of guitar-playing. In no time, you can play virtually any song you want! You can play like a rock star and eventually take hold of an electric or steel guitar without any effort.

When you want to learn how to play acoustic guitar and you`re new to buying acoustic guitars, how do you know if the instrument you`re holding at is the best one for you, and how do you even know what to look for? If you need help with this, read this post. It might make some of these things clearer.

In some cases, it’s the tool that defines the practice. When learning how to play the guitar, having the right instrument to play tunes on is often times one of the major concerns that musicians or would-be guitarists. If you are unsure about what acoustic guitar to buy, here are some useful tips that you can consider.

Do a research on the instrument that you are gunning for. Although the brand name could also give a hint of its quality, do not be blinded by the shining brand. There are also less popular brands of acoustic guitars that can give you that rock and roll sound without the blinding price tag. Do not buy the first thing you see or the most expensive and famous brands offered at your local store. Use the Internet as your ultimate resource. There are a lot of reviews online that could help you in your quest of finding the right guitar. Some of the most common recommendations would be Seagull, Yamaha acoustic guitars, and of course the Fender.

Do not allow the salesman to override your decisions. Make sure that the instrument is really the one you like instead of simply relying on the sales pitch of the shop owner. In the first place, it is your money and you will be the one to play the guitar.

If you are unsure about what to purchase, bring a friend with you who knows the deal about guitars. Having a second opinion is always advisable so as not to commit an epic purchase fail.

Buy what feels right. Test the instrument yourself and check for its sound quality. Nothing can be more disappointing than going home and feeling down because of purchasing the wrong instrument. Although you can replace the acoustic guitar with a new one because of warranty, why not just save the stress and be proactive in making a purchase?

Do not just go for the looks, pick the one with sound quality and durability. Making correct decisions on what acoustic guitar to buy is very important because aside from being your instrument of choice, they are also investments on your end. The value of your instrument is compounded by time and quality.

Remember to take your time. Spend as much time in different stores as possible if that is what it takes to get the best instrument. In this way, you would also be able to get the best price and quality.

Aside from skills, another factor that you have to consider as a guitarist is what acoustic guitar to buy. With the right tool, you can enhance your talent, playing, and interest in your craft.

4 things you need to know if you want to learn how to play acoustic guitar. You don`t HAVE to read any of it, but it may save you both time, money and frustration. And no, you don`t need a teacher to learn how to play the guitar.

If you`re anything like me, you want to learn how to play acoustic guitar as fast as possible. That`s quite all right, but there are a few things you need to know before you begin, things that will save you a lot of time and frustration.

1. To become a great guitar player you need to practice a lot. Because of this, keeping motivation up can be hard. A good tip to remedy this can be to play a long with one of your favourite songs. You`ll be surprised at how many songs you can actually play along to, even if you`re just a beginner. Furthermore, you can go on Google and see if you find chord charts for them. Look at the charts and see if you can fine one that has somewhat of a simple chord progression. Then you can just download them, start practicing, and find out how good it feels to play along with a song you love.

2. Your guitar needs to be tuned properly. As unbelieveable it may sound, I`ve met people that didn`t know that each string needed to be tuned. And no, it`s not good enough to get it allmost right, it need to be spot on. This is because you judge your own playing by how good you sound, and all it takes is one string to be out of pitch for you to not sound as good as you would have if the string had been in pitch.

But how can you make sure your guitar is in tune? With an inexpensive pitch pipe. I got one myself too, I payed 6 bucks for it. Furthermore, you can tune from string to string, use an electric guitar tuner, or maybe tune from a piano or another guitar.

3. What kind of plectrum do you want to use? Do you want to use one at all? This is perhaps THE most overlooked piece of equipment when it comes to playing acoustic guitars; you don`t have to use one, it is possible to just use your fingers, but in any case you should a least learn how to use it. The reason for this is because you will have the possibility to change the sound of you guitar; a wery thin pick will give a “soft” sound, while a thick one will, you guessed it, give a “harder” sound.

4. Practice, practice, practice, there`s no shortcut. You want to learn how to play acoustic guitars but you don`t want to practice? Forget it, it`s not going to happen. Of course, who doesn`t promise themselves to practice a lot every day, but there`s always so many other things to do. Maybe there`s a good film on tv or maybe the big game is on. And who said I`m any different? I`m just like that myself, so this is what I suggest: when you`re thinking about how much you want to practice, don`t promise yourself an hour a day. Instead, make it 20 minutes. This is so much easier to actually stay with, and in my opinion little and often is the best way to go anyhow. Furthermore, if you`re watching tv, be sure to have your guitar and tabs near by. Then you can play a few minutes during the commercial breaks.

These are the tips I have for now. Maybe I`ll add some more if something pops into mind.

Practice, practice, practice. That’s the only way you`ll ever learn how to play acoustic guitar.
